Hello and welcome to Fermi’s Paradoxical Prompts! This blog is created to inform potential science fiction writers about the Fermi Paradox and its many proposed solutions, and to use those solutions as writing prompts for science fiction stories.
The Fermi Paradox was created by Enrico Fermi and Michael Hart, two physicists who theorized that given the size of the universe and the number of stars and exoplanets in the universe, and given the likelihood of those planets being able to support life, we should have found evidence of extra-terrestrial life. However, we have not found any evidence of Extra Terrestrial Civilizations (ETCs), leading to a number of theories as to why that might be. This blog plans on going into the proposed solutions of the Fermi Paradox and using them as ways to add spice to science fiction stories and games. If you’re a potential author, game designer, dungeon master, comic writer, or just curious, then this blog is for you!
